Also, nineteen year old Rimbaud with his Season in Hell gives me a great need to throw everything I’ve ever written out of a window.

Van Gogh sold only one painting during his life. And this to the sister of one of his friends for 400 francs (approximately $50). This didn’t stop him from completing over 800 paintings.

Regen Projects group show. The floor made of mirrors that continue to crack as you walk on them!
Oscar Weekend, AM attended the Black Swan inspired group show at Regen Projects, which featured an A-list lineup with names like Matthew Barney, Richard Prince, Dan Graham, Glenn Ligon, and Anish Kapoor. The exhibion explores the illusion of dualities described in Darren Aronofsky’s chilling psycho-drama: black vs. white, purity vs. sexuality, and apparition vs. reality. The works strive to examine the tension between these spaces, deconstructing their presumed boundaries. The pieces quite literally reflect this sentiment, with black and white monochrome images paired with reflective mirrored pieces, including Walead Beshty’s mirrored floor. The exhibition is curated by Dominic Sidhu, who curated a series of artworks that appear in the movie.
